A New Era in Therapeutics

Transforming Antibiotics to Combat Chronic Infections.

Scroll Down

Our technology begins as an AURA—Antimicrobial-Loaded Ultrasound-Responsive Agents.

Targeted specifically against pathogenic cells within the biofilm environment.

This allows for holistic treatment, delivering therapy precisely where needed.

An innovative new paradigm that overcomes chronic infections.

A microscopic view of a bacterial colony, representing a biofilm.

1. INITIAL COLONIZATION

Pathogenic bacteria breach tissue defenses and adhere to exposed wound surfaces. P. aeruginosa leads initial colonization with its superior motility and adherence mechanisms, establishing micro-colonies that signal for additional species recruitment.

2. PROLIFERATION & MATURATION

Multi-species bacterial communities rapidly multiply and differentiate into specialized roles. S. aureus forms dense clusters while K. pneumoniae contributes to structural integrity. Cell-to-cell communication coordinates collective behavior and metabolic cooperation.

3. MATRIX FORTIFICATION

Bacteria secrete a complex extracellular matrix composed of polysaccharides, proteins, and DNA. This protective barrier creates oxygen gradients, nutrient channels, and antimicrobial resistance. The biofilm becomes a living fortress with sophisticated defense systems.

4. CLINICAL RESISTANCE

The mature biofilm exhibits extreme antibiotic resistance through multiple mechanisms: physical barriers, dormant persister cells, efflux pumps, and enzymatic degradation. Chronic infection becomes established with periodic dispersal events seeding new sites.

1. TARGETING

Proprietary nanocarriers (AURAs) diffuse deep through the biofilm matrix.

2. ACTIVATION

AURAs explode upon ultrasound exposure, completely contained within the biofilm.

An explosive burst showing payload delivery into cells. A microscopic view of neutralized bacteria.

3. DELIVERY

This effect blows up the biofilm from the inside out, blasting away stubborn biofilm matrices and activating dormant cells.

4. NEUTRALIZATION

Loaded antibiotics are pushed deep into bacterial cells, killing them rapidly.
